About Frank

I was born and raised in Niagara Falls, NY and started my love affair with the game of golf at age 11. At the age of 16, I won my first Niagara Falls City Championship. I was one of the better junior and high school golfers in the area. I was a member of the Williamson cup team and was awarded a golf scholarship to the University of Nevada at Las Vegas. I won numerous local scratch tournaments including: 10 time Niagara Falls City Champion and 11 Hyde Park/Cataract Golf Club Championships. My best tournament record scores were 73-66-65-63-267 13 under par. I was 2 time Western New York Pub-links Champion, and runner up in the Buffalo District Championship. I qualified for many New York State Junior and Men Amateur Championships and qualified for the U.S. National Pub-links Championship 2 times, and qualified for Porter Cup 3 times.

After a long and successful amateur career, I decided to take my experience, knowledge and love of golf to another level.  I decided that I wanted to become a PGA Teaching Professional and I met the criteria set forth by the PGA of America. I also won an award for the highest grade point average of my graduating class. I earned the privilege to be called a Class A PGA Professional.

Before becoming a PGA teaching professional, I taught my own son, Frank Garcia Jr., who went on to become the  BDGA Junior Match-Play and Stroke-Play Champion as well as becoming one of the Top Ranked Junior Golfers in Western NY, and qualified for the High School State Sectionals for four years in a row. He went on to play at Florida Southern College on a golf scholarship. His crowning moment came when he won the Buffalo District Golf Association Championship firing a final round 5 under par 67 at the Historic Cherry Hill Country Club. It is still considered to be one of the best rounds in competition by a local amateur. Frank Jr. is still considered one of the better players in Western New York and I was his only teacher. Many of his peers consider his swing to be the most technically sound swing in the area.

I was fortunate enough to be hired as the Niagara Frontier Country Club’s Teaching Professional by the beloved Head Professional, Dan Antonucci, a position that I have gratefully held since 2000. I can be found spending hours on the driving range teaching and improving golfers from all walks of life and various skill levels, including local PGA professionals. I have been very successful in being able to take some of the best players in the area and making them better. I have groomed and produced many successful junior golf champions, local amateur champions, club champions and even one prize pupil, Paul Scaletta, that has competed and succeeded on the Canadian Tour, Gateway Tour, Web.com Tour as well as the PGA Tour. Paul recently earned the title of South Florida PGA Section Player of the Year.

God has given me a great gift, my eyes, to see everything in great detail. When not teaching, I like to spend time working on my golf swing and conditioning my body for golf. I now compete professionally in various WNY PGA Section events. I also incorporate my knowledge of golf fitness into my teaching repertoire, leaving all students with golf-related stretching and fitness drills to take home that will inevitably improve their golf game.  My energetic personality, combined with experience, make a perfect fit for individuals and group clients of all skill levels. In addition, I was voted PGA Teacher of the Year 2009.
